In 1997, "Immagine leggera", the Palermo Video Art and Experimental Cinema curated by Alessandro Rais and the staff of the Filmoteca Regionale Siciliana (Marcello Alajmo, Ignazio Plaia, Maurizio Spadaro), presented a selection of the works by Alberto Grifi where the author was also present. Sixteen years later, the Filmoteca Regionale Siciliana proposed the same works again followed by an unpublished interview to Alberto Grifi curated by Canecapovolto with Roberto Silvestri.

"Transfert per kamera verso Virulentia" by Alberto Grifi (Italy 1966-67, 22')
Grifi documents a theatrical work by Aldo Braibanti, using lens, prisms and distorted mirrors to create a "new geography of perception and boundless imagery.

"Il grande freddo" by Alberto Grifi (Italy 1971, 20')
A film about Giordano Falzoni an artist , about painting and its negation where the video camera is the weapon to be used to fight against the dictatorship of painting.

"La verifica incerta" by Alberto Grifi, (Italy 1964, 30')
A masterpiece from the Italian Underground Cinema, was produced between 1963 and 1964 by Grifi and Gianfranco Baruchello, a conceptual painter. The two artists purchased 150.000 meters of film - destination debris and worked on the material by selecting and then re-assembling it using the "detournement" method creating a primordial blob to desecrate the type of cinema characterized by Hollywood.

Alberto Grifi (Rome, May 29 1938, April 22 2007) film director, cameraman, painter, photographer, author of video-cinematographic equipments, is considered to be among the greatest representatives of the Italian Experimental Cinema. He started off by filming the theatrical work "Cristo '63" by Carmelo Bene which was however censored and the recording, confiscated by the police, is to be considered lost. Among his main works, "Verifica incerta" (1964, with Gianfranco Baruchello), a film the editing of which took famous Hollywood films to pieces causing the enthusiasm of Man
Ray, John Cage and Max Ernst; "In viaggio con Patrizia" (1965), a journey along the phonetic poetry by Patrizia Vicinelli with the music of Paolo Fresu; "No stop grammatica" (1967), a happening lasting 12 hours with a soundtrack made up of pieces of magnetic film distributed among the crowd and then assembled again;
"Non soffiare nel narghilè" (1970), filmed in the Terrasini hippy community; "Anna" (1972-1973, directed together with Massimo Sarchielli), perhaps the most famous of his works, created with the first portable open-reel, quarte-inch, video-recorder that had arrived in Italy and was presented in 1975 at the Festival of Berlino, at the Biennale of Venezia and at the Festival of Cannes; "Michele alla ricerca della
felicità" (1978), a film about prison conditions first commissioned and then censored by the Rai.
Grifi designed and used the videographer as well as the tape launderette to be used for regenerating the physical condition of the analogue tape emulsion and its transfer back to the digital media, a structure specifically designed to restore video tapes recorded during the period 1960 to 1970.
